If you have ever been to Brussels, you have probably noticed that it is one of the greenest capitals in Europe. The city is littered with parks, all different to each other but equally beautiful. On sunny summer days the whole city seems to look for the perfect spot to soak up the sun and relax. Let\u2019s take a tour around some of the most beautiful parks in Brussels…<\/p>\n

Located at the edge of the Sonian Forest, the Bois de la Cambre \/ Ter Kamerenbos is a green lung for Brussels. The vast open green space of the park provides an ideal backdrop for a hike or a picnic with friends. Take the ferry and get to the park\u2019s little island where you will find Le Chalet Robinson<\/a>,\u00a0a caf\u00e9 \u2013 restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the park.<\/p>\n

The EU quarter in Brussels may be dominated by the buildings of the EU institutions but it is also home to the Parc du Cinquantenaire \/ Jubelpark. Most buildings in the park were commissioned by King Leopold II to commemorate 50 years of Belgian independence. The park usually hosts events, including foodie and cultural festivals and is very popular with the locals. Spot the yellow waffle van and taste a bite of Belgium\u2019s favourite sweet treats.<\/p>\n

Not too far from the Cinquantenaire park, you will find Parc L\u00e9opold \/ Leopoldspark, a small but lovely park that is a true oasis of calm. This is a place to relax and enjoy some quiet time with your book or loved ones. Combine your visit to the park with a cup of tea or a light lunch at Living Room<\/a>, a charming design store just a stone\u2019s throw away.<\/p>\n

A bit closer to the city centre there is the Parc de Bruxelles \/ Warandepark, a large urban park just a short walk from the Grand Place. The park sits between the Royal Palace and the Belgian Parliament and is lined with interesting statues and plenty of trees. The small caf\u00e9 in the middle of the park is a nice spot for a coffee and people watching under the shade. For a healthy lunch, pop by Moonfood<\/a>, a nearby restaurant that supports clean eating.<\/p>\n
